Two banks. One roof.
Project: CoLo branding
Client: Westpac & St.George
Role: Visual Design Lead
As Westpac and St.George transitioned to a co-location model, the challenge was to bring two distinct brands together without losing customer trust or clarity.
I developed a cohesive communication system that balanced both identities, introducing the idea of “Bankmates” to humanise the partnership and make the transition feel simple, familiar, and customer-first.
As Design Lead, I led the development of the co-branded visual system and rollout across in-branch, OOH, and digital, creating a scalable framework for consistent application across all touchpoints.
Platform idea
Bankmates was the platform idea at the heart of the campaign. Playing on the idea of two housemates moving in together, it gave the co-location story a simple, human angle that customers could instantly connect with. The concept launched across metro co-locations, rolling out through digital and print assets.
Regional rollout
In regional communities, a bank branch means something more. “Teaming Up” brought both banks together under a shared purpose, supporting the towns and people they serve. Each execution was tailored to its location, making the campaign feel local, personal and genuinely community-driven.
Design system
To bring consistency to such a large scale rollout, I developed a comprehensive co-branded visual system and playbook for both Westpac and St.George. Covering typography, colour, layout, imagery and tone, the guidelines gave teams everything they needed to apply the brand confidently across every customer touchpoint.
